Careers in animal care

The title states the obvious. I am very interested in animals and therefore I would love a job in animal care. But I hear that salary wise it isn't a very good job to opt towards due to the pay normally just scraping the national minimum wage.

I have a keen interest in domesticated animals than equine and excotic animals. I am also more of a "hands-on" kind of guy:biggrin:

Any Suggestions (where appropriate) would be appreciated. Thank You:smile:

Vets have a good salary, can go over 100K

Vet nursing is probably what you're looking for but it's still quite competitive to get in to. I've no idea salary-wise but I imagine it's one of the most personally rewarding jobs u can do if u really love animals.

The university entry route is a minor one - I know there are a couple of colleges in London which offer the more traditional HNC/HND and NVQ level 3/4 qualifications in animal care and have strong links with employers. Can't remember off top of my head the names of those colleges but when I do I'll edit this post.
