I don't like football but...

...get obsessed about big international competitions where England is playing.

I think club football is as boring as it gets. There's no loyalty, money dominates, and there tends to be a Premier league or FA cup competition every few months or so.

But when England is playing in a big international tournament, it changes. Suddenly, loyalty plays a factor. The players are there because they were born in that country and identify with it, not because of the sniff of dollar. And it only happens every 2 years, making each event special and something to be savoured and treasured.

Anyone else get really psyched about big international football but couldn't care less about the game normally?
Yeah, seeing England flags outside people's houses makes me want to watch it, even though I generally don't find football interesting.
Such a crushing team to support.
It's people like you that are the reason why hooligans are letting loose in Marseille. Patriotism gone too far.

Yeah, I don't care about teams, they don't "represent" me as such... But when England plays, I'm interested
