Can AS grades help boost up UCAS points?

Hey everyone,

So the university I'm applying to wants 320 UCAS points as an entry requirement- If I get BBB in this year's exams, that levels out to about 300 points. I've also got an A grade at AS from a subject I dropped, worth 60 points, and I'm wondering whether it could be useful in boosting my points up above 320.

Is that how UCAS points work?

It is if that is the offer that you are made. Some offers specify the points have to come from A2 only, others will allow AS points to be used, and a lot of universities use grades only, not points. You need to study the details on Ucas and ask the university if it is not clear.
