GCSE AQA Chemistry Unit 3 - Ion & flame tests

    I hate the ion and flame tests in AQA's GCSE Chemistry Unit 3.
    There's no learning involved. It's just a memory game.
    I don't want to waste my time trying to learn something that may not be on the paper, but if it is, it may be worth up to 6 marks.
    Any help!? :,(

    Ermm...you just have to memorise it, that's the only way you'll be able to answer a question on it in the exam.
    Flame tests - just remember LiC NaY KL CaR BaG - lithium crimson, sodium yellow potassium lilac, calcium red and barium green.
    Otherwise just learn it, you have 3 days!
