1. If I were to get an A (20%), a C (35%), and an A* (45%) for my GCSE chemistry exam (OCR!) would it be possible to achieve a grade A overall? Fingers crossed!

Nope... U need AAB or A*A*B to get An 'A' overall..
You will be lucky if u get an A because of the C but fingers crossed
3. Let's work it out with averages:

typical A is 85% UMS
typical A* is 95% UMS
typical C is 65% UMS

So if we sum it up:

85*0.2 + 65*0.35 + 95*0.45 = 82.5

82.5% is within the A boundary, so yes, with typical results you would receive an A. No guarantee though :3

If you just scraped an A* A and C you would be 2.5% off the A
