I mean in terms of the way they're played? If someone played the Guitar would they be able to just pick up a Ukulele and just play it?

Ukuleles and guitars have different numbers of strings, so probably not.

It should be easier for a guitar player to play the ukulele nonetheless.

    Not quite.

The ukulele has 4 strings. They're usually tuned to GCAE.

However, if you had a piece of music and it asks you to play a D7, you play that on a guitar or a ukulele. But the shape is different.
