How do they calculate your overall grade for English?

Do they convert your controlled assessment & exam grade and formulate it into one?

Are you doing single qualification or separate GCSE English?

Either way;

The UMS mark scale converts your raw marks that you have got in both controlled assessments and exams into UMS points to give you a grade.

The UMS points for controlled assessment is different to that of the exam. As in, since the exam weighs more for your overall qualification (60%) then the UMS points will be more than a CA which is usually 40% of the qualification.

The UMS point is formatted in grading scales. For example, to get an A overall, would be points that are in between 160-180 out of 200.

Does all this make sense?
