1. Hey guys this is the thread for the IAL S1 paper lets discuss it over here

1. Q1 Sww= 292, Swp=-26.2 r= -0.93 neg correclation
p=44.84-0.08w

q2 105 number of people

q3 P(t=2) = (3/16)/1/2 = 3/8
P(t=3)= 1/2

q7 r=499.. q= 1.51

these are the answers i remember

Yeah I got the same except the last one I made a silly mistake - will only be getting the method marks and not the answer mark..And for the interpretation I don't think you can write negative correlation, you have to state that ___ decreases as ___ increases in words

Yup was it interpretation? I cant remember but yes just saying negative correlation is not enough you need to explain in detail because it was for 2 marks.

yeah where p(x<r)=0.01 was given you had to take 503-r/q not r-503/q

Do you guys remember the probability question so we can do it again?
9. (Original post by ToxicPhantom007)
yeah where p(x<r)=0.01 was given you had to take 503-r/q not r-503/q
Lol i was about to make the silliest mistake ever, i read the wrong valve off from the table at first and luckily just looked back half way through the sum and had to cut the whole thing and start from the beginning.

I did that but still made a silly mistake.. meh forget it

I cant actually remember the valves or the question to be honest, but please does anyone else remember?

which question ?
13. I remember there was 0,1,2,3 the probabilities for those were 1/6,1/6,1/6,1/2 I think
14. So...how was the paper guys? I got rekt.

15. Was 0 there ?
16. yeah in that question P(t=2) we had to use given probabilty stuff
it is given that X is not 3 so let it be A
let that sum in 2 be B
then make combinations of sums,. there is a prob of 3/16 for sum of 2

now use P(A|B) = (3/16)/1/2 = 3/8
17. what did you guys write ?
18. (Original post by ToxicPhantom007)
what did you guys write ?
How was q calculated ?? I got 1.2 something

yeah it's right coz i got 1.15 and other guys got it too
20. i believe that your answer to q3 where they ask you for the p(t=3)=1/2 is incorrect , since the p of 3 alone is 1/2 and you can also obtain a total of three from (1,2) + (2,1) + (0,3)
