tan(theta) = 50/52.5.

Horizontal component of the velocity is constant. Vertical component of the velocity = u + at.

tan(theta) = horizontal component / vertical component = 50/52.5.

Stone is "moving parallel to" means the "velocity is parallel to" OB.

As such the velocity will make the same angle to the horizontal as OB.

Tan of said angle = -52.5/50 = "vertical velocity" / "horizontal velocity"
where your vertical velocity is a function of t.

Ah thank you both very much, I didn't even realise in the worked solutions that they were calculating the angle never mind why they were multiplying by 10.

I get it now, thank you that was a great help.
