I am facinated by biology and earth sciences but the problem is i only like the learning the theory, not the practical side of it. So I don't know whether I should pursue this to a higher level at uni...or opt for something else im interested in??

Practical work is a large part of these course so think about it very carefully. Have a look at course structures to get an idea of what will be taught and how. Also bear in mind that uni practical work is very different from school lab work.

in what way is the practical work different in uni than at school?

Uni labs are far better equipped. You work in groups or alone and are far more independent. You mostly won't be told what to do, will have to get on with it and do your own reading prep and research.
