My petition:

Make it Illegal to smoke if you take care of a child

So many children are victims of second hand smoke given they are not able to do anything about it they are involuntarily inhaling second hand smoke even if a parent has smoked away from the child they will always drag smoke to the child from their clothes or other methods.

You can't make it illegal. That's just a middle class fantasy, why don't you try walking to a council estate in an industrial town and try lecturing the parents there about the dangers of smoking around their children. You need to get to grips with the realities of life and see that it's not all a bed of roses and not everybody does or should conform to your views. The petition smacks of you coming across as patronising and telling others what to do because you know best. Also, why does our generation think petitions solve everything???

Let's definitely not do that

It would be an unenforceable law and politically too difficult so I don't see any reason to challenge it from any other angle

As a non smoker I'm appalled by passive smoking. However, this action alone does not equate to bad parenting. To suggest a ban is ridiculous. There are endless habits/circumstances affecting children's health. Would you ban parents from living in areas with high pollution? Smoking is a lifestyle choice, maybe your focus should be promoting healthy choices.
