# M1:Forces around a point

1. I need to find P & Q.
I have 2 equations from resolving vertically and horizontally: (this is correct btw)

1) Psin45+Qsin30=12
2) Pcos45-Qcos30=8

I have tried subbing in (12-Qsin30)/sin45 into P in the second equation but I'm not getting the correct answer. I think my algebra is going wrong!!!! Please can someone show me step by step please and if there's an easier way...

Evaluate all the trig e.g. sin 30 = 0.5.

Then subtract the equations.
