Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016
1. (Original post by Further)
(x-6)(x+5)=0
x=6
x=-5
2. How did you guys do the proof question? 2cot^2(2A) + tan(A) = cot(A)
Kept getting stuck for some reason, wasn't sure where I was wrong
3. How the **** did I mess up q1a? I did it twice and got like x=1. At least I got b right. So how many marks would I lose for adding them wrong maybe?
4. if you can, could you please put the number of marks for each question, thanks
5. I used -90 and 90 in the arcsin sketch would i lose a mark for that?
6. i bloody skipped 8b so dumb..can anyone tell me if it was difficult
7. I got a different answer for 5i.
Does anyone remember the qs?
8. i couldn't do part a so i thou to come back to it in which i forgot ahhh
9. isnt 1/2sin4x = 2cosec4x? not 1/2cosec4x ?
10. Failed haha
11. can someone PLEASE remind me what was Q5 today I might've skipped that questions I can feel a panic attack coming
12. question for 5i??
13. Does anyone remember what each questions mark was?
14. (Original post by veldt127)
I'm not 100% sure on all of these, but I think most are correct.

1.
A -5, 6
B 6

2.
A (20-4x^2)/(x^2+5)^2 Might not be simplest form
B >sqrt(5), <-sqrt(5)

3.
A R= sqrt(5)
a= 26.57°
B 33.0°, 273.9°
C 86.1°

4.
Ai 21
ii ln(2.5)
iii 25
B Show that question
C 1.4368, 1.4373
D Show the root was in [1.4365, 1.4375]

5.
i 0.9463
ii 0.5cosec(4Y)

6.
A A=3, B=4
B Normal eqn. -0.5x + 17.5

7.
A graph of arcsin, sort of a rotated S shape. Went through (0,0), (-1,-pi/2), (1,pi/2)
B -1-0.5sqrt(3)

8.
A Trig proof
B -2.848, -1.277, 0.294, 1.865

9.
A 6.740 - dose after 4 hours
B show that dose equalled a value after 7 hours
C 5ln(2 + 2e^-1)
A = 5, B = 2

Sorry about the formatting, I'll try to improve it once I'm home.
I agree wholeheartedly with everything. I got stuck on the last bit of 9c) however because I got 5ln(1(2 +2e^-1)) for some bizzarre reason, but that was the only issue

i skipped question 8 in the same boat..**** our lives

3b) denominator was 2cos(theta) - sin(theta) -1,
3c) 2cos(theta)+sin(theta)-1

You need to switch sign for cos(theta+Value)=59....

to cos(theta-Value)=59....
Do you know how many marks 3c was worth? I didn't notice the sign change

How did you guys do the proof question? 2cot^2(2A) + tan(A) = cot(A)
Kept getting stuck for some reason, wasn't sure where I was wrong
LHS:
2/tan2A +tanA
2(1-tan^A)/2tanA +tanA
(1-tan^2A+tan^2A)/tanA
1/tanA

Thanks for doing all this! Do you know what the marks for each question were?
19. If you want working, let me know the question and I'll give it a go; this is all I could remember.
