Chemistry Wider Reading

I've asked this question once before but I'd like some more recommendations if you can please! I know that magazines are quite good but could you suggest some good books for wider reading that are suitable to be talked about in a personal statement. Personally, I really enjoy Organic Chemistry and would like to know what books I could read that would allow me to go further without confusing me during A level. It doesn't have to be Organic but I don't want to read something like "Why Chemical Reactions Happen?" and books that would be too difficult to understand.
