My sister got back from school really upset today. She was called in to discuss why she is sometimes late to school. She catches the school bus so if its late then she will be late to school. She has Osgood-Schlatter Disease in her left knee and has been told not to run for the bus or she will be in constant pain for the rest of the day and could severely damage her. When my sister explained this she was laughed at by the teacher and two students who were standing nearby. He said "That was the most stupid excuse I have ever heard." She is understandably upset and is unsure what to do.

Any advice for dealing with this would be helpful.
I had osgood schlatters in my left leg for 2 years (13-15), i couldn't do PE at school, and had to miss some of my football games, and when i actually did play i frequently used to have to pull of the park because of the pain i was in when i put pressure on my leg, i remeber this one time i accidentally banged legs with another player at one of my football games, it was ridicolously painful and i had to walk with a limp the rest of the day and the day after.

My advice would be best to ignore it for now, teachers like that in general don't care for you're excuses on why you're late, if it happens again i would maybe get one of your parents to inform the teacher on her condition. I went through the same thing with my PE teacher, he always acted as if i was faking to get out of PE, he was just in general a bit of a d**k lol.

Just try and support your sister for the moment and take action if it happens again.
