Armed Forces Capita Medical poll

Poll

What was the result from your AFCO/AME Medical

Evening all,

There's been various threads, posts and discussions about Capita Medicals on TSR, therefore I decided to create a Poll.

It would be interesting to see how you all fared from your AFCO medicals, what result you were given and if you appealed, how it went.

I'm not asking anyone to divulge into personal medical circumstances, just to vote via the three options available.

Just out of curiosity, why?

I'd be interested to see the results, particularly those TMU/PMU who appealed successfully. I haven't heard of many great experiences with Capita medical as since they were given the contract.

Reckoning they're being over zealous in an attempt to reduce numbers applying?
Drewski,

It was only to find out how many people are made either TMU or PMU on their medicals.

As Fritz said, I've heard and personally experienced (- as many others have also) that their TMU/PMU rates are incredibly high and as a current TMU candidate, I do worry of the prospect of being made PMU.

I get your point, but not sure you'll get a good idea this way.

If you're interested, you might want to think about a FoI request, see if the rate of PMU/TMU cases has increased since going to Capita. You need before and after numbers for any analysis to show anything.

If only they were that clever. After all, since Capita have had the contract, the recruiting trend has generally been on a upward vector.*

But that's my point, just asking people for Capita results won't show a trend.

I don't think you're wrong, anecdotally I think we've all seen an increase in people reporting P/TMUs, but anecdotes don't cut it in these situations. A FOI request the MoD might yield better results, then you could ask your MP to look into it if it suggests a trend.

Funny thing is my sister was cleared fit even though shes the only one at medium health risk...
