I just want to ask anyone over 18 why they did not vote. Please be nice to each other in this thread.

Although I was voter in this Referendum, a young British Chinese girl at the age of 25, I would like to say a majority of young people still feel alienated away from politics; they don't 'generally have a voice' in what really matters to them.

In the last general election 13 months ago I spoke to a lot of my young peers.
They all felt that their future has already been spoken for - without their say in all of it - by the likes of the rich and the elderly.
Do you remember the student protests against increasing tuition fees?
Most students fought - and as a result they lost their fight , and importantly their say. This is why younger people started to feel like a black sheep and the government didn't really care about that.
Then we had the 2011 riots when the younger generation used social media with the likes of Facebook and BlackBerry Messenger as a tactic to form a gang to rebel against everything they stood a chance for. The results, well you know what happened with that I assume?
