Subject knowledge enhancement support

Hello,

I am aiming to studying from
September 2017 on a PGdiped primary specialist mathematics (post grad teacher training)

I have been asked that I take A level math and an SKE primary math course Sep 2016
And delay my PGdiped by a year until September 2017

I'm ok with that
And I've found a school that will support my SKE and support further training
However
I am really stuck for funding

How do I survive the year
The course is funded so free
And the school is offering a volunteer placement
I cannot apply for student finance for it

So that will be an entire year with absolutely no income at all
How do I support myself and pay my bills

Does anyone know of student friendly loans I can access or funding

Thanks

You are best off posting this in the PGCE forum as others lurking around there might know if there is any funding. However student finance are the only student friendly loans company so you may have to look at getting a part time job.

Do you get a bursary? I start an SKE in Computer Science next week. I believe I will get around £200 a week for the pleasure. Not much but better than a kick in the teeth. If your SKE is funded i.e. you don't have to pay, you should get a bursary as well no? Worth ringing to find out. Other than that - part time work? My SKE is only 25 hours a week apparently.

Good luck.
