Yep, it's a good one. Production could have been better though. And Lars' drums still sound terrible. But there's some really good riffs and solos. That Was Just Your Life kicks ass!

I have been playing Rock Band for about a week now, and it's getting me listening to bands I haven't paid attention to for years, like Faith No More  I am liking The Outlaws as well atm, not heard them before getting Rock Band.

Love Metallica's new album! Bought it yesterday and must have listened to it like 5 times already. Every track is awesome on that album!

Aye, it's pretty stormin'. I'm at The Art of Dying and whilst nothing so far has jumped out at me in the same way as a track like, say, Ocean Planet did, it's been a really pleasing listen so far.

That said, this song just kicked in and it's a real face kicker. Yeah, this is beasty.

They'd ban you for posting the link and will probably warn you for offering to PM it to people

Oh, really? Ah well. I'm sure it's circulated the Internet pretty far now anyway. It's damn good, anyway.

ah well i'm sure that if people know its out there they should be able to find a way to obtain it...somehow :ninja:

listened to my death magnetic a couple more times - suicide and redemption is probably the worst metallica instrumental (the others being orion, ktulu and i'm also counting to live is to die).

death magnetic is good but far from being their best. imo:
    -lars is too ****ing loud
    -trujilllo has gone missing
-hammett can suck my balls (I'm sorry but I cannot recall ONE good solo; the unforgiven III was alright I guess and the middle solo(s) in suicide and redemption were written by hetfield, or so I heard)
-seriously kirk ENOUGH with the wah
    -not a lot of originality

I'm probably just nitpicking, but overall I'm kind of disappointed. At least james' singing is better than that in st anger, and they finally made another thrash metal record.

p.s. please don't be offended hammett fanboys, I think his pre-load stuff was fantastic but lately he's really gone down hill. What a shame.

Oh yeah and Alestorm's guitarist has left. I was really surprised, seen them play twice now and seen a fair bit of the band on/off stage, never would have suspected any of them was unhappy in the band. Maybe it had something to do with the old drummer rejoining the band a few days ago?

Everytime I look at Blabbermouth someone has left or rejoined that band :p: Should be seeing them again soon, hopefully in the UK, if not, at Ragnarok next year

thoughts on trivium's new album "Shogun" ? I can reassure everyone it's NOT a metallica rip-off (thank god) and in fact they've moved on to 7 string guitars. Could be interesting.

    Metal update:

Metallica at the 02 was AMAZING
Gojira - The Way Of All Flesh has a lot of filler (Adoration For None, Yamas Messengers). If those tracks disappeared, I wouldnt mind.
Shogun is actually pretty good. Im impressed. But I must be the only person in the world who liked The Crusade.

The crusade was a solid album but some parts *cough*unrepentant*cough* were blatant rip-offs
