    Very sad news indeed.

Thought I'd make one of these:

If you can get 15+ I'm very impressed.

numbering them in the order people read:
    7 - black sabbath - paranoid
    6 - a deathspell omega album?
    17 - none so vile?
    20 - ne obliviscaris's album?
    only definitely know one

All correct but they're not proper answers, I'll give you 3/20 with no points for "a deathspell omega album".

Ensiferum album coming out in august. winterfylleth album coming out in august/september (maybe), fen album coming out in october/november (maybe)
This autumn has the potential to be fricken awesome.

Also, the new Symbel album has been in production for about four months now with no updates. I've not been a big fan of Symbel to date, but I'll certainly take a look at the new album when it's released.

I've been thinking about trying to get Winterfylleth to play at one of my local venues. There's one or two local bm bands who might be interested in supporting and it's close enough to manchester for it to be financially viable. Also I know someone who runs a promo 'business' so it can be brokered through him.
Would also really like Fen to come play up here but they're based in London I think so it's a bit of an epic drive for them!

Did't know which one as I don't listen to them much. Ne Obliviscaris only have one out, but don't remember what it's called, not yet heard it

Figured out how to make youtube links work properly, what'd you guys think? Like I said, used to like this band a lot and I still like their riffs. Vocals aren't the best I guess but not bad.

I liked them a lot as they were one of the bands my uncle used to play loads. The IVth Crusade is a boss album.

These guys only have like... 1,000 plays on last.fm. I don't get it. The bassist is the guy that wrote the Swedish Death Metal book apparently. It's old school death metal revival **** but with a really strong Voivod/early crust influence. On the LP there's even some Killing Joke-esque bits.

    Really good.

    I just remembered Goatmoon

Nice melodic stuff. It's a shame he's a nazi really, he makes decent quality black metal.

The riff at 2:50 is pure magic.

Here's sample from the song I've been working on for fupping ages now.
    http://soundcloud.com/roscoe-1/caer-...actacus-sample

This is the third time I've started fresh from the drum beat alone. This section is the second half of the quieter acoustic section building up to a double length chorus which has this nice melody line through it which came about by playing the solo for too long. I like it enough to want to re-write the first chorus to include it.

There's no acoustic guitars or synth or vocals yet, but other than that it's pretty much as I intend it to sound for now. I'll almost certainly tweak some of the levels to make it more balanced. I'm thinking of asking around for a drummer to do the drum track on a real kit rather than midi though.

Metallica are the world's most overrated band.

So true... anyone into punk? or is it really dead?

I'm a fan. Crass, dead kennedys, etc.
Although punk in its truest form is most likely dead... The punks of yesteryear are now the chavs of today.
    Possibly.

Just found this thread. Always been into different types of metal. Currently I listen mainly to Dream Theater, Stratovarius, Machine Head, Queensryche and Hell or Highwater. Usually I have phases though where certain bands grab my attention then I fall back to old trusted friends like Iron Maiden.

Metallica may be overrated but D00D, Ride the Lightning is one of the best metal albums ever imo.

ALSO, currently listening to this High on Fire album, 'tis great.

    Only just found this thread!

I'm really into Australian bands at the moment.

Karnivool's Sound Awake album is absolutely flawless.
