Rock and Metal Society (a.k.a German Snuggle Society)
whatever happened to that old thread? can't seem to find it using the search engine so time to start a new one methinks?

Anyone into rock (not indie, actual rock) and metal that wants to talk about bands can post here.

Fave bands at the moment would have to be: The Bled, From Autumn To Ashes, Machine Head, Killswitch Engage and Alexisonfire

    Wanna join the society? http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/socs...o=list&page=10

Pretty much every rock band - indie and metal are both minority sub-genres. Want examples?

    Yardbirds
    Quarrymen
    The Beatles
    Cream
    Velvet Underground
Telephone (should have accents but don't know how to do them)
    Patti Smith
    Bob Dylan (from '66 onwards)
    Thin Lizzy
    Spencer Davies Group
    Elvis Presley
    Bill Hayley (and the Comets)
    The Who
    The Rolling Stones
    The Kinks
    The Doors
    Traffic
Art Rock (Pink Floyd, Genesis and the like)
    The Animals
    Neil Young

And on and on and on. And I don't think I've even got beyond bands formed in the 50s and 60s there!

you can't be serious about Bring Me The Horizon surely? they are absolute pish!
The ones in bold are the ones i like but haven't heard much by the rest. You should check out grindcore like Napalm Death and Pig Destroyer, that's some real bands without these tragic haircuts
