Questions regarding repeat teaching as an international student

I think I might fail my exams I've taken this year, and will apply for repeat-teaching. Just in case I get rejected, in which case I will be considered as an unregistered student, can I still stay in UK?

This is because I have issues regarding accommodation (on a 2 year-contract, continuing from last year), and my Student visa does say it expires in October, 2017. But I'm not sure if this means whether I can stay in UK, since the LSE website says I will have? to go back to my home country and come back in April the following year.
