Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016

    Hi again,

So I am still confused about having the civil service as a career. Right now I see my job as a job and failing to see long term opportunities and itbkilling me as I do not know what my future is here.

I wana apply for levels higher but realistically i don't know what a heo is required to do. I definitely don't want to be at junior level my whole life.

Have you thought about what area you are most interested in? Once you have identified an area e.g. IT, Law, healthcare you can then make steps to get a job that actually satisfies you.

You seem to post the same thread fairly often.

Why not have a search on civil service learning for a course to do

You should search for civil service competencies which will give you an idea of what is expected at higher levels. It is a massive organisation with a lot of variety so you might need to think about what role you want to have within government. Progression can be very slow unless you make things happen. Try for secondments to different departments to build experience etc.
