Not sure about my decision

So when we first started choosing university's and what course we wanted to do I decided that I wanted to do something more academic instead of performing arts. I've been performing on stage since I was about 6 and I went to college and studied performing arts. My time at college was amazing and I got the lead role in every show/play we did. Surely that's a sign I should continue it? But I got cold feet at the thought of auditions and decided to go for sociology which I studied at GCSE level. I decided on Brighton uni and for a while I was really happy. We've now finished at college and I really miss performing already. I'm getting cold feet about doing sociology but they don't do any performing arts at Brighton uni. Do I try and go to uni and see if I like it or do I quit now and take a year off and get experience working on stage and on camera and audition for drama school. I'm just so confused and worried I'll make the wrong choice or regret something.

If you truly want to become a professional performer, then you would do far better to attend a specialist institution. It is possible to achieve that goal via other routes, but the odds are even further stacked against you.

Thank you for the help! After a very long discussion with many people I've decided to take a year out and get some more experience on stage! I now need to figure out how to withdraw from my choices! I can't figure out how to do it? I've already accepted my firm choice and my second choice!
