If acne is caused by diet, it's usually by dairy, not sugar.

Hi

Acne can be caused by a number of factors.Teenage acne is thought to be triggered by increased levels of a hormone called testosterone, which occurs during puberty. The hormone plays an important role in stimulating the growth and development of male genitals and in maintaining muscle and bone strength in girls.

There is believed to be a slight link between food and diet. Eating high GI foods - foods that are absorbed into the bloodstream quickly - is thought to have a direct effect on the severity of acne because of the hormonal fluctuations that are triggered. High GI foods include sugary fizzy drinks, cakes, pastries, chocolate, white bread and potatoes. High GI foods cause a spike in hormone levels including insulin which is thought to instigate sebum production.

A 2007 Australian study showed that young males who were put on a strict low GI diet noticed a significant improvement in the severity of their acne.

Hope this helps :h:

wow. no. some people have acne just because they have acne. I kmow people that eat terribly and have great skin.
It's more likely to include genetic factors and people with acne often can't help getting it, regardless of what they eat.
