history or RS a-level??

yayy! :clap2::excited: and yeah thats exactly why i chose r.s aswell- because of the ethics but on my exam board that only makes up 30% of the final grade.

and could i just ask- what made you decide to do dentistry??:curious: thanks though!


My parents want me to go into it! Job pays extremely well (especially if you specialise e.g. ortho) and it is a respectable job that has flexible working hours.

I studied both History and RS and dropped History because it was just awful. I think that A-level depends on what kind of history you enjoy. I hated learning about Fascism and Italy. Also found that A2 was basically WW2 and Hitler and I was not having that crammed down my throat. I never liked modern history. So I say check what units you'll be studying for History. You don't really need to for RS as it's so varied and even if it was one topic like philosophy of religion; you'd study ancient philosophers as well as modern philosophers anyway.

Also, you have a better opportunity in studying something to do with medicine in History if you can pick your own coursework anyway.

But I think you should just go for the one that you most enjoy by the syllabus you'll be taught over the next two years.

I never studied both subjects at GCSE and I did alright in both of them. You pick up the skills pretty quickly at AS if a) you have really good teachers and b) if you're naturally good at essay/humanities' subjects.

RS Deffo. everyone that takes history complains about how much work there is, I do Rs and I don't find it that difficult to get good grades in
I would personally do history because its really interesting and you get to learn so much more and in so much more depth than at GCSE.
