    Hello all,

I'd like to know which university you'd say is the best to study foreign languages. I'm especially interested in German & Russian. Does anybody from this uni know the departments?

I know Edinburgh is probably more famous internationally, but in the last years St. Andrews has done pretty well as well. Which one would you suggest? I mean from a purely academic point of view.

Neither. Both stuck up own arses. Seriously though, look at the module descriptors (particularly for honours). If you want a bigger place (= more diversity = more interest = more exchange) then that would be Edinburgh. It is said about St. Andrews that people there are either rich or sociopathic, or both.
