Black lines down iPhone screen?

I cracked the screen on my iPhone 6S a while ago and meant to get it fixed but never got round to it. Last night I went out and must have dropped it and now there are some more cracks in the screen but also two thin black lines running top to bottom. The phone still works perfectly. Different friends are telling me different things about whether this is a screen issue or an internal problem. I want to book to get the screen fixed at Apple but if it's not the screen that's the problem then clearly there's no point. Does anyone know if this is a screen fault or not? Thanks

Tl;dr - thin black lines down cracked iPhone screen but phone works fine. Is it the screen that's broken or something else?
