Economics Summer School Advice

Hey, I'm going to an economics summers school in about a month, as I am thinking of applying next year to do degree level economics. I'm hoping the summer school will teach me some interesting things and show the uni that I am putting in effort to learn about the subject as I don't study it. I don't know if I will be the only one in the class that isn't doing the AS level, and if that's the case I don't want to look silly. What are some basic things I need to read up on and know about? All help is appreciated
