    I never said she could be reasoned with. But at the same time if you don't try you won't find out. I'm not saying it will guarantee a solution and odds are it won't. But at the same time it's worth a shot because then nobody can complain that the OP didn't try.

    At the end of the day, if you have a problem you can't always just run away from it. If the OP spends their life running away from their problems rather than trying to talk through it first it'll do far more harm than good.

    I'll ignore the jabs about being a sheltered middle class kid. But it we're talking about things not being black and white, assuming she can't be reasoned with just because she's in a relationship with an ex-convict is a rather simplistic way of looking at things. Nobody here has enough information to judge this situation, beyond the OP's hate/hate relationship comments.
