The Student Room Group

JD Whetherspoon

I'm applying to JD Whetherspoon atm and I was wondering if it is a suitable place for a 16 year who has left high school and has no experience in this area at all.

Also:

Is the company flexible in terms of working hours?

The job description (floor staff) only advertises 4 hours per week; is this set or is it a minimum?

How much will I be likely to get as a 16 year old as it advertises £7.25 per hour after training for 18+ but just says under 18s will attract a lower rate of pay.

I'm just hoping it's a job with friendly colleagues and a nice atmosphere.

i'd think minimum
£3-5 an hour
so at least £12 take home per week
