Well maybe because she was being forced to leave her home!

Or she could just be an extremist who hates Jews.

A Palestinian would say the same.

Unfortunately for the Arabs they ignored the UN partition plan years ago and went to war to destroy Israel.

The Arabs lost, then they went to war in the 60's and lost more land yet again. Israel is here to stay.

Forced by her father? May be. But usually it ends with honor killing.

"Proposed draft of the Declaration of Independence, 9 May 1948, edited by Zvi Berenson of the People's Administration's Legal Division, which served as a basis for the final version Israel State Archives"

The draft fully identical to the first draft from the book "Three Days" by Zeev Sharef. No word about boundaries.

It also asserts that the draft discussed by the People's Administration was a later draft, as well as contradicting your earlier assertion that Berenson didn't write it. But as I can't read Hebrew, I'll take your word for it for the sake of argument.

The only common argument of Ben-Gurion in various sources is that the American Declaration of Independence made no reference to boundaries. Of course you are entitled to consider it as deliberate.

There is broad concurrence that there was a debate on the inclusion of borders, that Ben-Gurion opposed it and said something along the lines of: "We accepted the UN Resolution, but the Arabs did not. They are preparing to make war on us. If we defeat them and capture western Galilee or territory on both sides of the road to Jerusalem, these areas will become part of the state. Why should we obligate ourselves to accept boundaries that in any case the Arabs don't accept?" as well as mentioning the point about the US Declaration.

How many Declarations of Independence with defined boundaries you know?

Slovenia's, for instance, refers to the state taking over the borders and territory of what had been SR Slovenia within Yugoslavia. This is broadly how, in recent memory, most states have framed their independence: the Yugoslav states, the post-Soviet states and most colonial states did not frame themselves as creating entirely new polities, but merely asserting the independence of existing ones. Certainly most UDIs (or at least those that have been recognised) have done this.

In a constant state of war with all its neighbours, which even didn't recognize it as a state? Are you serious?

Is it that difficult to issue an international statement saying "We claim X borders and territory on legal justification of Y."

To put it another way, without a designation of borders there is no line which it can be demanded foreign armies should withdraw to.

Arab countries clearly underlined in the Armistice Agreements that the Armistice Demarcation Line in no way can be considered as a border.

All except the lines separating Israel from the West Bank and Gaza were international borders already. And the fact that they were not initially intended as borders has no bearing on whether they subsequently became recognised as such. Many of the borders between post-Yugoslav and post-Soviet states were initially intended as merely internal administrative borders, and they were not uncontroversial, but as a result of events, they have become accepted as international borders.

Another stabbing attack against Israelis (video below). I feel sorry for the soldiers, they're young guys (likely around 18 or 19 as it is a conscript army); they don't have the experience and calm that comes with age. The woman was coming at them with a knife, they kept shouting get back and she kept coming forward, and they were getting pushed up against the barriers and couldn't move further backwards easily. Now the guy who shot will have to live with that for the rest of his life. Very tragic

Were you watching the same video as you posted. Looked to me like they had plenty of options and weren't being pushed into any barriers, but used the easiest which was to shoot her. One of them could have just as easily hit her with his gun and disarmed her, whilst being covered by the other. Don't feel sorry for them at all. They are supposed to be the professionals.

It's incredibly unfortunate also that the Palestinian Authority is encouraging these attacks and feting the criminals as heroes and martyrs (including the guy who snuck into the bedroom of a 13-year-old Israeli girl and stabbed her to death was praised and will have a street named after him).

This stabbing campaign obviously doesn't help the Palestinian position. It simply hardens the views of the Israeli population to make them more likely to vote for right-wing parties. I understand some Palestinians and their Western supporters agree with these attacks because they believe if only they can provoke the Israelis to kill enough Palestinians, somehow the world will suddenly decide Israel must be abolished.

It's the same mentality as some hard-left groups like the SWP who oppose parliamentary participation by the centre-left because they believe if they simply do not do anything to stop the right-wing, conditions will become so bad that there will be a revolution and then they (the SWP) can have what they want.
