Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016

I'm a graduate in my twenties and work full time at the moment. My job is an admin role, not very highly paid, but it does me well as I still live at home so have no bills, asides from the gym and running my car.

I'm happy enough in my work, but I wanted to move on and up. I did A level Biology part time alongside my working, going to college in the evenings. I absolutely loved it and I'm very much hoping to get back into university to do a Podiatry degree this September. I'm holding a conditional offer.

I also have the opportunity to spend the summer in Munich. My fiancé is working there for the next six months and he really wants me to join him. I do too obviously!

What I'd love to do really, is to leave the job and spend the summer there with him, and hopefully I will secure my place in uni then I'd come back to start there.

But I'm conflicted - I've always been quite sensible (too much for my own good!) and I'm concerned about not getting into uni and then being without a job again. But I also think, to go to Munich, is a wonderful opportunity and I think I will regret it if I don't. And if I get into uni, I would be leaving the job anyway. 🤔

I've spoken with my manager and taking an extended period of unpaid leave is not an option for me - I'm employed through a recruitment agency and if it was what I decided to do, my contract would be terminated.

What are your thoughts? What would you do in my shoes? Help me decide! 😌

Hi Tiger Rag, yes I think so. 😌 I'd have to be more frugal of course but I could get by.
