Basically I use to go to uni but decided to leave and having some time off to think about what I want to study. I want to go back and try a new course but when I try to log into ucas it can't find my account. I try to recover the account but it tells me no matches are found which is strange because I still receive emails from ucas.

does this mean this account no longer exists? and do I need to create another account if I want to re apply?

Also how will this affect the loan from the previous course?

Sorry if this is in the wrong topic

You have to make a new account for each year/application, but Ucas will marry up the details from your old one when you do.

Your entitlement to funding is worked out using the formula length of course + one year - number of years taken, so if you were only at university for one year, a new three year degree would be covered, but if you even started the second year before dropping out, then you would only be entitled to the last two years of a new degree and would have to fund the first year yourself, fees and all.
