Hi, so just yesterday i changed from just computer science to comp sci and maths. im starting uni this septemeber as an undergraduate and was wondering how do joint degrees work? is it 50/50

If it's an and degree it is usually 50/50 in terms of modules, the other option is a with degree which will focus more on the first subject. Your degree path will have different compulsory modules and these should be specified in your course handbook and you will discuss these with your advisor when you arrive.

For an and degree, you're final year project can be in just one subject, though I think comp sci and maths would work together well .
