Full IAL in History in just 6 months...

Hi, I'm 23 and i've found myself in a situation where i need to self-study a Full international A level in roughly 6 months. i would like to make my study as effecient as possible to give me the a best chance at finishing the coursework with enough time to prepare for the exams in January(I would love to get through everything by october!).

I've made it 1/4 of the way through the first book (Germany 1918-1945) in a little over a week. I've been essentially reading through the book and writing notes as i go, though i fear i am being a bit verbose. My problem is, im not sure how much information im actually retaining. And because I'm pressed for time, i would like to find a way to get through it as quickly as possible while maximising the amount of information i retain.

What is the best way to do this? All tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated !

Thanks!
