Leaving aside the fact that one already has a valid EU driving licence, what is driving school like in the UK? I thought it wise that once there, I start from 0 everything including the legislation and lessons, considering there aren't major differences except the side of the road haha. What are the formalities and how long does it take, on an average, to complete everything from lessons until after the examination?

First thing people will say about DVSA tests is the administration about them is crap. You can wait for months for a test slot, only to have it cancelled a few days before.

Other than that, every driving instructor is different, there's no requirement to take lessons, or even get in a car, before you take your test. *
