slow cookers...

Hi I've recently bought a slow cooker. And wondered if anyone has any budget recipes for me to try. Being a home student and a mum is hard. So it would make life much easier. Thanks in advance :-)
The packets you can get for them are pretty good and cheap, but you can also throw some beef stock, diced beef, veg, potatoes and later on some dumplings made from those super cheap packet mixes for a really great stew! Enjoy your slow cooker, they're great!
I'd suggest any kind of braise recipe from

Ideally, you should brown things BEFORE putting them in the slow cooker. A pressure cooker/dutch oven is actually preferable flavour-wise, but might be a bit pricey for you. I hope this helps
