and help raise PDA understanding. I am carrying out IMO much-needed research into Pathological Demand Avoidance, which is a little known, little diagnosed, but high impacting form of autism. Many health professionals have not even heard of PDA, others claim it is not a type of autism or that it is not distinct from other types of autism. Analysing the first 353 responses showed that they are WRONG: PDA is a type of autism, but with unique traits. You can see the preliminary report here:
The research is via a Google form of 169 possible ratable PDA traits thinned down from a bigger list. Average scores for each trait are then compared by neurotype (autistic, PDA autistic or not autistic) and gender. Be warned, some participants have been frustrated that there is no progress bar for the questionnaire (this is so demand avoidance isn't triggered for PDA participants).
