I was wondering, if I paid for the first year of my degree out of my own pocket up front, can I get a student loan for the rest of the degree?
    Thank you *

    Yes you can.

You have to apply each year. You can apply up to 9 months through the year for funding.

It depends whether you've done any previous uni study before your current course, and if so, for how many years. Who pays for your study is irrelevant and is not taken into account by SF when calculating your entitlement.

If you have never been to uni before your current course, then yes, you can self-fund for the first year and apply for SF for the rest of the course.*
