So the IRA was not influenced by Ireland and the concept of being Irish? Islamic terrorists re influenced by beliefs in extremist forms of Islam, just as the IRA are influenced by extremist views on what Ireland should be.

They are influenced by Nationalism. That's a belief. But if an Irish person did commit a terror attack, we could probably think that it might be an IRA attack.

How about we don't learn to live with it and you do something about it? Maybe realise the ideology of the attackers and do more to attack ISIS and other terrorist groups? And maybe tell everyone what type of terrorist attack this was?

When he mentions learning to live with terrorism its clear he is not saying give in or accept it is ok, but he is saying its a reality that everyone needs to be aware of rather than stick your head in the sand.

France are already doing quite a lot to attack ISIS, the only other thing they cna do is send ground troops in and that wont happen unless its part of a very big coallition.

Quite rightly they are investigating and will release information as and when they know more, as is the case with all investigations. Expecting more less than 24hrs after the even is ridiculous. Why no just wiat instead of being so demanding?

Your last paragraph is stupid. Where has he said how peaceful Islam is, where have they said about banning trucks? is this just you making things up again to try and bolster your rant?

If the west decideds to go to war, then a lot more people are going to die. there is no appetitie for war here, look how well the last one went. Perhaps the solutions need to be long term and are a lot more complex than just bombs.

we cant fight this without fighting muslims as a whole. bombing isis is irrelevant - and probably only adds to the problem as they just immigrate here and take revenge. so either deport them all, or learn to live with it.

Several years ago, an MI5 behavioural science unit report on radicalisation was leaked. According to the report, Islamist terrorists tended to not be devout Muslims. Many lacked knowledge of basic Islamic doctrine. Admittedly, this was around 2008, pre-ISIS, but a decent amount suggests it still to be true - for example, some of the Brussels attackers were known to be getting drunk in nightclubs just months before their attacks.

There is still a common Muslim denominator, but it's primarily identitarian rather than strictly religious.

It seems he was depressed, lonely and lived in poverty.
