So I have two sim cards.
I had one in, and changed it to the other one just now.
I turned on my phone and on the top bar you can see your new messages.
So I see a number showing up (someone i know) with the message and I caught about half of it so I went to my message box to see the full message and it wasn't there.
This happens often that messages dont show up in my inbox after I change the sim, because the date and time is wrong after you put in a new sim card.

So I corrected the date and time on my phone, turned off the phone and turned it on again and the messages still dont show up in my inbox!

    Are they lost forever
