Please help - don't know where to start..

    Thanks guys

    Formal internship programmes:

    - Look on graduate job boards like Targetjobs, Ratemyplacement, Allaboutcareers. There are loads more you could also look at.

    - If you are at university, look at your univerisity's careers service. They will have 1000s of opportunities listed.

    - look on LinkedIn

    Informal internships:

    - work out what kind of companies you want to work for, in what kind of department.

    - look for companies within the georgraphical area you are willing to work in

    - send well written cover letters with a copy of your CV asking for an informal internship.

As well as applying to formal internship schemes on sites like target jobs and student ladder and other sites, also try emailing/calling smaller firms for internships or work placements.
