Hey , im going to be doing busniess management next year at USW and i cannot wait !

Whats the nightlife like and what's the best places to go on a night out ?

Depends which campus you're studying on really. I'm sure you're already aware that the majority of the nightlife is in Cardiff. In treforest you've got some good pubs for a casual drink, Rickards and The Railway Inn both have good jukeboxes if you're a music enthusiast. There's the standard Wednesday student night and a monthly rock night in Treforest SU. Otherwise on Treforest campus, people usually make their own nightlife by throwing flat parties in halls. For your proper nights out and clubbing you'll want to head into Cardiff. Greyfriars road is where all the commercial clubs are, you've got Pryzm, Glam and Tiger Tiger. Another very popular club is the Live Lounge, which is commercial alternative and they have live bands on every night until midnight. On St Marys street you've got some of the standard club chains, Walkabout, Maddison, Missoula. Then you've got Womanby Street which is where the alternative venues are, Fuel, which is a rock and metal bar, Clwb Ifor Bach which covers a bit of everything and The Full Moon, which plays reggae, ska, blues, motown, funk, and all sorts of other eclectic music. Metros is a big student favourite, its a indie and rock bar which does £1.80 doubles on a Wednesday. Bunker is another Alternative club which plays pop punk, rock and metal. If you're into more underground music like grime and drum and bass, Undertone is a good little venue and Buffallo is also worth checking out if you're into Hip-Hop/RnBOverall Cardiff nightlife is really good, there's clubnights which cover every genre and prices are cheap/reasonable, apart from Saturdays which are a bit more expensive as standard.Hope that helps!
