Has anyone done a TEFL course or been certified to teach English abroad?

I want to be certified to teach English abroad so I can do so for volunteering abroad as well a earn some money by doing it online.
My main goal is to be able to learn the language of the country I will be staying in.
What's the cheapest/ efficient way of going about it? in terms of the course to apply to and the website. Preferably a short course too so I can start teaching asap.

If your main goal is to learn a language, why don't you just learn it at home or take some lessons?

To be a teacher you actually need to want to teach. It's a lot of effort.
