How do you revise?

How do you revise? And do you do anything different other than flash cards, mind maps and so on.

I just read my class notes. I've never been one to make notes, mind maps or do past papers.

For A2 psychology I made model essays and then memorised them word for word so I went into the exam knowing 21 essays word for word... it took me 3 months to learn them but hopefully it pays off
