I'm in Year 9 (going into Year 10) and enjoy the UKMT challenges (I've got into the Olympiads for the past 2 years, in junior and intermediate).
I never seem to do that well in the Olympiads, though - I won a Bronze Medal in Year 8, and Merit this year.
I hope to do the Senior Challenge this year (I just want to get a feel for it for later years), and will hopefully do the Hamilton this year. I was wondering - how do you guys who get 59/60 work? Do you actually practise (I did)? For the record, I got 37/60 last year, which I guess is okay, but I want to do better! I particularly want to know about people who do well on the geometry questions, as I struggle on these. (Last Olympiad, I got 36/40 on arithmetic and 1/20 on geometry).
Are there any really important things to know, or is it just naturally being great?
Thanks for any reply from anyone who has done any UKMT Olympiad.
