If it is possible, then yes. I don't see the issue with it. I see it as a blessing.

Yeah, I agree.. Children are a blessing and gift from God
I have no siblings and often I loved it! I loved being the only child, never having to share a room or my clothes, but as I've gotten older and I've seen my boyfriend with his brother I feel like I'd have liked a similar aged sister to hang out with

I guess that's true, but in future children should be grown up adults who should work for themselves and not be dependent on their parents.

Lol, have you seen the current housing market? Young adults need all the help they can get.
Yes.
It's yet another way to make women feel guilty or inadequate for their choices and/or abilities in childbearing.

I don't feel guilty in the slightest about my lack of desire or ability to be a breeder. There are more valuable things to involve myself with.

I feel sorry for people who's confidence is so tied to the function of their sexual organs*

Why does not having a sibling mean you have to be lonely? Do you not have a single friend?
Having siblings really does help children. It teaches children things such as how to socialize and how to share before they start school.

The other day I was watching The secret life of brothers and sisters and it was really interesting to see how children behave with others.

And friends can't help children socialise?

Siblings are not needed to help children be normal.

Facebook? Phone? Text?*

You don't have to physically be with people to partake in social interaction*

You're kinda twisting my words. What I meant was by having siblings, children will be used to being around others by the time they start nursery/(pre) school. Not all children will have the opportunity to make friends before they start nursery/(pre) school e.g. The parents may not have friends who have children or they may live in a quiet area where there isn't much children.

I'm the oldest child (girl, 21) and I have two younger siblings. I have 1 sister 19 and a brother 12. (13 this year).

Eventually, when I have my own children I'd like to have at least 2 or 3. As much as I argued with my siblings, I can't imagine my life without them. Plus when it comes to my parents growing old, it's nice to have sibling support just not financially but emotionally also. I want my children to have aunts, uncles and cousins to grow up with. I didn't have much of that, considering my Mums siblings are mostly in India except for one sibling which is here but her children are very young so they get along better you my brother. My Dads brothers, are just a pain. So, no cousins from his side but I did see them occasionally but never had much love for them so I'm glad I had my siblings to grow up with.

Obviously, it's not guaranted you will get along and be close with your siblings. Our parents always maintained that we have a close sibling bond with eachother. I do think it comes down to parenting if you're close with your siblings but not 100%.

What are your thoughts on this? ☺️

I don't think children need siblings, but I do think it is very good for them. I can't imagine having grown up without my twin brother. Also, most (but not all) of the only children I know were so spoiled that they grew up argumentative and unable to compromise. Having a sibling teaches valuable social skills and life lessons such as the fact that you are not the centre of the universe.
I'm an only child and have grown up just fine, sure would've been nice to have a sibling when going on family holidays and stuff but I'm not that bothered about it

I'm an only child and when I was younger I always wanted an older sister. It would have been more fun on family holidays, which I sometimes didn't really enjoy when I was younger if there were no other kids to play with the same age as me.

But now that I am an adult, I don't feel like I need a sibling.

If I become a parent when I'm older, I'd probably like 2 kids, I don't think I'd want lots.
I think it is important to have siblings, just because it helps to teach you things in life that you may not otherwise be able to do if you are an only child. For example, learning to get on with a person of a similar age, learning to live with someone of a similar age, etc, which are good skills that could help you later in life. It also teaches you to be able to share and get on with someone, and in the future it will be nice to have someone around once your parents have gone to share memories and experiences with.
I have 3 brothers, and not saying it in a bad way but sometimes I feel as if I'd be better off being the only child. Not that I don't appreciate them I just feel as if it would be less hassle and I would have a lot more things to myself.

Couldn't agree more. Older siblings are very helpful for everything from academia to maturing and growing up. Younger siblings teach you responsibility and patience. I am very grateful for having 3 older siblings, for I have learned much from all three, their wisdom is invaluable to me. Especially in today's society, where parents cannot relate to children as much as they used to be able to.
