EU to fine Greece for saving ship builders

[h="3"]BRUSSELS bureaucrats are set to fine impoverished Greece a million euros every month in revenge for its Government stepping in to save ship builders’ jobs.[/h]
Out of touch eurocrats are seeking a court order for a massive financial crackdown on the struggling country, which has been driven into third world poverty by EU policies.

They want to impose a six million euro upfront penalty on Greece’s cash-strapped government, to be followed by a daily levy of 34,974 euros.

The row has erupted because Greek ministers used taxpayers money to save the Hellenic Shipyards company in 2008, guaranteeing the jobs of more than a thousand workers.

The shipyard was one of the country’s biggest and the government provided a temporary rescue package, before selling it on to a German company, in a case echoing Britain’s bid to save the Port Talbot steelworks.

Remain voters, I know you have a psychological cringe, an aversion to the uncomfortable truth that the EU isn't nice and full of hugs and kisses like you've been led to believe but this is what you voted for.

You voted for a supranational organization that infringes on a nation's sovereignty, and punishes them for using their own taxpayer's money to the benefit of their own taxpayers.

They give Greece poverty and overrule democratic governance, and they call it progress.

I name it for what it is: Oligarchy.

The EU isn't some benevolent distant entity which keeps the Boogieman at bay, it is a vested interest, and ultimately it doesn't care about you.

It paid for and bought your acquiescence off the backs of your parent's taxes. Of your own.

An inconvenient truth.

The sad truth people don't care about the big picture, there willing to stay in a Tyrannical EU so long as it doesn't effect them now. Later when the Tyrants turn on them they will see the truth but by then it will be too late.

But conversely, if you are a struggling ship maker in say Germany and don't get government support, how can you compete against a company that is being bank rolled by a government?

In a free market, if you can't make ends meet, you fail and do something else. That is the way of the world. Protectionism doesn't work as Trump will discover if he wins.
