Welcome to Part-Time and Temporary Employment!

Whether you're working part-time whilst studying or looking for advice on holiday work...

It's all in here for you!

What types of conversation can I find in the Part-Time and Temporary Employment forums?

Anything and everything related to part-time jobs, holiday work and temporary employment! Whether you have just started exploring your options, are desperately job-hunting or you are currently working, pop in this forum to get advice or meet others working for the same company as you!

I would like to start a society in this forum- how would I go about doing this?

If you would like to start up a society of your own, such as Sainsbury's Society or Next Workers Thread, all you need to do is set up a thread as normal with info on what the society will be all about and simply alert a member of the Community Team or Support Team and we can highlight the thread for you.

Does any know places in Chelmsford that will imply 15year olds
In April I found myself my first ever job. My employer knew it was only a temporary job and the I would be finishing at the end of August to go back uni full time.

In total I earned just under £6,000 but was still taxed (just under £600 for both tax and national insurance). Now that it is near the end of the tax year and i haven't had a job since i left my old one in August I want to get a refund on my tax, but shouldn't I have received a P45 from my old employer by now so that I can make this refund claim? And also would I get a P60 form from that employer?

Sorry I really don't understand how this tax thing works as it was my first ever job and no one has explained to me how it works apart from you only pay tax after you earn above £11,000 in a tax year.

Hello everyone, I'm trying to look for a temporary pat time job just for this summer holiday, as I'm moving away from home this October. I wonder how did you guys find your job? Was it from the internet, or did you go in the shop and ask the manager? I really don't know where to start with this...

Hi, I am a student of the Design Academy. And I also was looking for a part time job. I started looking for graphic design work online at home. Clients began to write to me and ask for one or another job. But I realized that I do not have much practice and experience working with design programs. It was the main reason why I could not complete all orders. So I found distance learning courses and I learned remotely for design programs at DistanceEducation24
Does anyone know of any opportunties for part time work in london or kent?

In London (Kentish Town) there's a call centre job for Union Insurance paying £10.20/hr + bonuses and free food every Monday and Friday. You have to do a minimum of 14 hours per week but you choose your shifts. Lots of students work there as it's flexible work
